Some Things About China

As I have walked around town I have noticed a few things. The main thing being that all the cars have tinted black windows. I asked someone why this is and they said that it is because the people who own cars don’t want to offend those who don’t have a car. So they tint the windows in order that the poorer people don’t have to look in and be jealous of anyone.

Another thing that is funny to see is that now that school has started all the girls in the city have had to cut their hair very very short. Apparently in China if you are a girl and you have long hair it is considered to be a distraction to you while study. As a result many of my girl students have come into class and I don’t even recognize them because their hair is so short.

With Yom Kippur just a day away I want to take this moment to ask you for forgiveness if I have done anything to offend you this past year. From the bottom of my heart I am sorry and I hope that you can forgive me. I want to wish you an easy fast and Gmar Chatima Tova.
